VIXENS NUMBED AS BEES STING THEIR WAY TO GLORY

The Uon bees venomously stung their way to victory in a revenge final match played at the Moi university grounds to painfully avenge their day one loss at the hands Moi town campus.

 The bees started on a high note with spikes coming from all angles to force the opponents to a time out at 15-3 in the first set. The game continued with bees, guided by the receiving hands of Erick machu, making minced  meat of their opponents to win the set at 25-16.

The second set followed the same script as the first and soon it became a matter of saving time and not just winning. Moi town campus put a spirited fight that sent jitters through bee’s camp, but bees relied on heavy strikes from Pascal, Mathenge and the team captain, to shrug off attempts with a narrow 25-23 win for the second set.

 The third and final set was easy as Moi town campus had lost the vigor and tenacity by which they played the first match. It dint take long before they started fumbling, hitting the net and serving out. Uon bees won the match 3-0 to carry the trophy back to the city.

Earlier in the day the vixens found the going tough as they could only manage one win in a round robin tournament beating minnows Rongo  3 sets to none then losing to Moi university main campus and chepkoilel respectively. The results saw them finish second from last in a tournament of four teams.

MOI UNIVERSITY HOSTELS: HALLS OF RESIDENCE OR NAZI CONCENTRATION CAMPS

The just concluded Moi university sports day provided me with an opportunity I have always yearned for; to visit my dream campus-Moi university. It couldn’t have come at a better time like this with exams done; I needed a relaxing serene environment to clear my mind and rest, albeit with a sporty touch. The well manicured lawns of Moi provided just that.

 From the ambience of ngeria road to noisy stage it was breathtaking site. With the state of the art student centre, the earlier thought of missing my beloved Manchester united play were quashed.

I must also say I really enjoyed the sassy voice of that lady presenter of MU fm-you should talk more and play less music.

The hospitality in Moi is unrivalled, never found students so generous, affectionate and neighborly like I did in main campus n I want to believe other campuses share this too. And I thank my host and hostess for compassionately accommodating me.

I must confess I was in love with the institution until I was hosted in some of the ladies hostel.  Are they really halls of residence or Nazi concentration camps? And what concerns me most is that it’s not only L but also K, M and others share the same conditions too. The condition is so deplorable that it sickens to imagine students use these facilities, and not just students but ladies.

First the halls are too congested which means no exile, second the lavatory or  ‘inside ablution’ if I am allowed to use that word are very dirty, they don’t flash and I believe they were last cleaned when someone was asking for votes in the health docket.

You walk around and to a newbie like me it’s the blood stained sanitary towels and tissue papers that acts as beacons towards the bathroom, surely this is unacceptable.

The question is where is MUSO? Where is the health coordinator? Is the admin aware of this? Whose interest does the student organization serve if they can’t guarantee healthy environment? Do you need an outsider to tell you how calamitous the halls are? 

I believe u don’t have to throw stones or read a long bogus article from a passerby, you need a vibrant student body, and you need a proactive health coordinator and a listening and caring administration.

But again who cares? , I know the ladies are used to it, I know some have accepted the conditions and moved on and others, are silently lamenting somewhere “choices have consequence”

But it’s never little too late , get your act right. It’s very wrong for a campus lady to use the toilet and leave it unflushed.

The health coordinators, congressmen and congress ladies MOSU chair et al the ball is squarely on your court, do something for the sake of next time; I lost the ‘urge’ after visiting the ladies toilets. and i can confirmed that Moi university main campus is truly ‘eyesore certified.’ Thanks guys for your hospitality.
